VENUE: Getting to Nanotoxicology 2010

REACHING NANOTOXICOLOGY 2010

Nanotoxicology 2010 will be held in the historic city of Edinburgh, Scotland.

The conference itself will be held at Edinburgh Napier University’s Craiglockhart Campus. Located within a leafy suburb of the South West of Edinburgh, Craiglockhart was recently reopened after extensive refurbishment and now boasts stunning architecture and state-of-the-art facilities.

By Air:

International and domestic flights are available to Edinburgh (Turnhouse) Airport. The Airport is only 12 kilometres (8 miles) from the city centre and has very good connections to the city via taxi, express coach and shuttle bus. Discounted fares for conference delegates have been arranged for the shuttle bus service – click here to take advantage of these preferential rates.

By Rail:

Edinburgh is well served by both local rail services and major national lines. It’s main train station, Edinburgh Waverley, is situated a short distance from the majority of accommodation selected for the conference, and 4 miles from the conference venue at Craiglockhart.

By Bus:

Edinburgh had two main bus providers – Lothian Busses and First Bus.

Lothian Busses run several routes from Edinburgh City Centre which pass by Craiglockhart Campus. Details of these are provided below (All links on this page open in a new window with the Lothian buses timetable for that service):

  • 4 every 20 mins via St Andrews Square, Princes Street, Haymarket and Dalry.
  • 10 every 10 mins via Princes Street, Lothian Road, Tollcross and Polwarth.
  • 23 (Glenlockhart) every 20 mins via Hanover Street, The Mound, Tollcross, Brunstfield, Morningside and Craighouse.
  • 27 every 10 mins via Hanover Street, The Mound, Tollcross and Polwarth.

For most of the buses shown above you need to get off at the bus stops on Colinton Road, just outside the campus. The 23 service stops on campus.

Please note that bus routes are often changing throughout this year, due to work on the tram system. For full and up-to-date details of buses serving Edinburgh Napier University and other parts of Edinburgh, contact Lothian Buses or First Bus directly.

The recently-refurbished coach station at St Andrew Square in the heart of the city offers coach connections to all major cities in Britain. See www.nationalexpress.com for bus information
