Keynote Speaker: Epidemiology
Dr Atkinson is a Research Fellow in the Division of Community Health Sciences at St George’s, University of London. He is a medical statistician working in the field of environmental epidemiology whose research interests include statistical methods in epidemiology, time series and cohort studies and the health effects of outdoor air pollution and aeroallergens. He received his PhD in Epidemiology from London University in 2006 and has also recently completed the postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Education at St George’s.
Dr Atkinson has participated in a number of European collaborations studying air pollution and health including the projects APHEA, APHENA and APHEIS. He is currently working on Department of Health funded time series and cohort studies on the health effect of short and long term exposure to air pollution.
